For which tasks (responsibilities)?

We are looking for an experienced Senior Character Artist to join our team and help bring our universe to life. You will be responsible for designing and creating high-quality characters, from humanoids to alien species, ensuring they fit seamlessly within our game world. Your work will play a crucial role in defining the visual identity of our characters, enhancing player immersion.

Responsibilities

  • Design and create high-quality, game-ready characters, including humanoids, creatures, and NPCs.

  • Work closely with concept artists, animators, and technical artists to ensure characters meet visual and gameplay requirements.

  • Sculpt high-resolution models in ZBrush and create optimized game-ready assets using 3D software like Blender, Marmorset Toolbag, Marvelous Designer.

  • Optimize assets for real-time rendering while maintaining visual quality.

  • Collaborate with riggers and animators to ensure characters move and behave realistically.

  • Ensure character designs align with the art direction and technical constraints of the game engine.

What kind of professional are we looking for?
  • 5+ years of experience as a character artist in the gaming industry.

  • Strong portfolio showcasing realistic or character work.

  • Expertise in high-to-low poly modeling workflows.

  • Proficiency in ZBrush, Blender, Marmorset Toolbag and Marvelous Designer.

  • Experience working with game engines.

  • Solid understanding of human and creature anatomy, proportions, and cloth simulation.

  • Experience with PBR texturing and shading.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Experience with procedural character generation systems.

  • Knowledge of technical art and shader development.

  • Background in rigging or animation.

  • Able to gather feedback from the entire game team and translate it into your field of expertise

  • Open to close collaboration within a team

  • Fluent in written and spoken English

The selection process

Our interview process typically consists of two to three stages. The first stage is an introductory call to assess the candidate's overall suitability for the team. This is followed by an interview with the Lead Artist and Management to evaluate technical skills. If there are any uncertainties, a test task may be assigned. The final decision is generally made between the second and third stages.

This is an in-house only full-time position, not remote.
